Let’s Clap!
I don’t want you to clap for me! Well, that’s not true at all! Of course, we all want (and need) affirmation and praise from others — especially from the people that matter the most to us.
I am blessed with an incredible tribe of women — and some men — who are loving, kind, generous, ferocious, tough as nails, soft as a butterfly kiss and who are always, always cheering for me! They’ve watched my journey. They’ve watched me work. They’s shared my prayers. They are exactly the kind of person I hope to be one day.
I recently launched a new coaching program. Last year I was a co-founder of a women’s retreat. The year before that I wrote and published my second book. And I have transparently shared every bump in the road and cause for celebration along the way.
I didn’t share because I wanted or needed approval or affirmation. Don’t misunderstand me! I bask in it — and continually thank God for the gift of the generous praise and heartfelt encouragement. But that is NOT why I take it all public! It’s NOT how or why I keep going after one dream, then the next, and on and on!
I want THEM to be proud of THEMSELVES! I want to be a beacon of hope. I want to be a light at the end of the tunnel. I want to prove to them that THEY can do anything they set their minds to; can accomplish any goal they set. I want to say, “Congratulations!” to them. I long to clap and tell them they did a good job!
“May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance” (2 Thessalonians 3:5).
My heart’s desire is to do “it,” whatever “it” is, together! I want us all to link arms and look back and say “we did it!”
I hope the good vibes and love never stops flowing in my direction. I just want them to know I feel the same way about them! I love the love. I love the praise. I love them.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV).
