Conventional wisdom is to celebrate our big wins! Announcing to the world out latest huge milestone is thrilling, especially if we have worked extra-hard, over a long time!

We share our accomplishments for ourselves — to let our friends, audience, clients, future customers know what we’ve done! It’s exhilarating, isn’t it! I don’t believe in bragging, but it’s great to invite others to share in our joy and possibly encourages those who are still working toward their big win.

Lately, I’ve been listing off my 1’s, 2’s and 3’s and sharing with my audience. 1’s, 2’s and 3's? Yes!

Here’s my most recent post:

1 new article published and 1 new follower on my LinkedIn business profile: linkedin.com/company/divinely-designed-llcc/

3 new followers on my Facebook business page: facebook.com/themarymosswrites

1 new blog post at themarymoss.medium.com/

1 sale (2 products) in my new Amazon store: marymoss.info/creativity

2 sales (3 items) in my Etsy stores: https://school.divinelydesigned.us/shops

6 days in a row writing for 1 hour

1 new writing quiz taken.

You may be thinking, “no big deal,” or “what’s one new follower, or 1 sale?” It’s pretty easy to get discouraged, isn’t it? We show up, do all the things we need to every day and at the end of day/week/month/year we don’t feel we have much to show! By tracking our small wins, we see continual growth, improvement, success.

I’m an abundance practitioner! I do believe that when we are grateful for even small things, even greater things are attracted to us.

Scripture is full of references to small things being enough to grow abundance! Our faith assures us that even a small amount of faith will sustain us to realize great things!

Though it [mustard seed] is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches” (Matthew 13:32 NIV).

Small choices, small changes, small wins matter!

I’m not great at math but I understand the concept of “aggregation of marginal gains.” It means the identification of a number of areas in which you can make small gains, which all add up to something much greater.

So if you start with 100 (of anything) and add 1% every day for a year, the formula looks like this: 100 * (1+1%) ^365 = 3778

That could be 3778 dollars, 3778 followers, 3778 customers, etc. Yes, it requires consistency and persistence. But it does NOT require us to start over each day. If we remember this formula, we realize that each 1, 2 or 3 is actually building on that larger value!

Does that help you understand why I celebrate even the smallest victories? And how I am able to keep going, even when it feels like I haven’t accomplished much?

What are some of your small wins?
